Hey,

Thank you for stopping by!

I’m on a mission to help people understand
themselves better.

I’m the former director of psychology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, instructor at Harvard Medical School, mom of two, writer & wannabe world traveler. I’m on a mission to help people understand themselves better in order to take care of themselves better. My approach is solution-focused, strengths-based, practical, and rooted in science.
I’ll take the ‘woo’ out of wellness and teach you how to cultivate a personalized self-care practice for
“real life.”

My aim is to help promote healthy and balanced living using psychological and wellness science that is:

ACTIONABLE - steps you can take on your own at home TODAY.

SUSTAINABLE - this is not a “quick fix” approach; this is your new lifestyle.

EVIDENCE-BASED - there’s a science to this.

How Did We End Up Here?

Our social media feeds are flooded with messages telling us to “stay positive,” and it’ll all work out, “live your best life” like so and so influencer, and that self-care consists of a spa day, a green smoothie, a gold facemask, and a selfie (a #selfcareselfie with intention doesn’t count :)).

With everything going on in the world and our desire for a “quick fix,” it’s no wonder our collective mental health is in crisis. So what can we do about it? Before I share that with you, let me tell you about what has led me here. ⤵

Journey Here

I earned a Ph.D. in clinical health psychology from the University of Florida and completed my internship at Indiana University School of Medicine, where I served as a member of the clinical & teaching faculty for nine years before relocating my entire family to Boston.

I served as Director of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
This was one of the most rewarding opportunities of my career, as it was in this role that my team and I weathered the global pandemic of 2020 offering treatment and support to physicians and many others through this challenging time.

Prompted in many ways by the pandemic, which revealed just how easy it is to lose sight of what’s important, I now focus all my effort on translating cutting-edge research from psychology, neuroscience, and medicine into practical strategies for health & wellness, personal fulfillment, and success, and sharing it with people like you.

I Believe that...

…mindfulness, self-care, and mindset shouldn’t be difficult.

…it’s ok to admit you’re not ok.

…we’re capable of making positive & lasting changes in our life.

The Passion

As a therapist, I help people change their beliefs and behaviors to both treat and prevent mental health problems. I strongly believe prevention is the best cure.
I work with diverse people across the spectrum of wellness, including therapeutic intervention, mental strength training, and performance optimization. Doing this work for a decade and a half & I absolutely love it.

Speaking at summits, corporate events, and podcasts, I love bringing these concepts to life so all can benefit from these tools when we need them.

The Fancy Acronyms

I’m an expert in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) - all highly effective, scientifically supported treatments for a number of problems, including depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, chronic pain, and insomnia.

I’m a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM), and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
